Start your journey to relaxation

Welcome to our home

Welcome to our Hermann, Missouri bed and breakfast where you will be greeted like a friend and treated as a personal guest at our historic Alpenhorn Gasthaus & Kitchen. Nestled in a quiet corner of Hermann, amid peaceful landscaped gardens and secluded vineyard, our relaxing accommodations offer a home-away-from-home, any time of year.

YOUR HOSTS

Adrian & Kate

Your innkeepers, hosts and chefs, Kate Schandl & Adrian Sigrist, husband and wife, opened Alpenhorn Gasthaus in August 2003. They reside in the innkeepers quarters and continue the Swiss-German heritage of the property, by displaying a 12-foot tall ALPENHORN in the Main House.  Play a tune on a hillside or take a photo! Additional books and photos of Switzerland adorn the walls and shelves of our gathering room. A little bit of Switzerland, here on this Missouri hillside! Your hosts and additional staff have a pleasant, easy going and friendly manner that will help you settle in quickly and enjoy your stay.

Located on 8 acres, guest can picnic on a private hillside, stroll a shaded path, feed farm animals, sip wine in our stone and brick wine cellar, relax in one of many inviting garden areas, play a tune on the 12-foot Alpenhorn, and enjoy starry nights and misty mornings. Experience Missouri wine country for an extended stay – there’s plenty to do! Alpenhorn Staff can help you find your way around the Hermann area to the true gems of the region such as parks, restaurants, wineries, micro-brews, theater, concerts, cultural sites, museums, festivals, unique shops, art classes, pumpkin, gourd, flower and Christmas tree farms. Just ask!

Home is where the heart is

On the National Registry of Historic Places (circa 1840 to 1860) Alpenhorn Gasthaus & Kitchen glows in a colorful history. Originally operated as a successful brickyard and then a formidable winery. Take a journey back and experience a true old-world B & B.
